Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist originally approved for type 2 diabetes that has become widely prescribed for metabolic health and weight management. Available as weekly injections (Ozempic for diabetes, Wegovy for weight loss) and daily oral tablets (Rybelsus).
